January Recipe of the Month: Winter Citrus Spritz

January Recipe of the Month: Winter Citrus Spritz

The Winter Citrus Spritz lets you play with different colors and balances of tart and sweet, so check out your local market to see what fun citrus are available at this time of year. We recently found some ripe minneolas (a tangy cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit) that were delicious in this drink. Here are some other citrus varieties that work well.

Patriotic Sangria

White sangrias are perfect for summer celebrations - they're refreshing, delicious, and since they can be made up in batches before the event starts, service is a cinch.

Here's a fun recipe that's super easy to whip up at home...

In a large pitcher or punchbowl, combine:

  • 1 750ml bottle pinot grigio

  • 8oz. raspberry vodka

  • 24oz. sparkling water (you can change things up by using a flavored sparkling water - I love this with the La Croix LimonCello flavor!)

  • 1 cup each sliced strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries

  • 1-2 apples, sliced (for a festive presentation, punch the slices into stars with a small cookie cutter)

Chill well before serving.

Serves 8-10.
